Make-up can be a pain in the ass, especially for those of us who barely have time to comb our hair in the morning. Between morning showers, countless outfit changes, and trying to eat a decent breakfast, doing your make-up seems almost impossible. Well, being flawless doesn’t have to be a hassle anymore. Here are some beauty tips from Kaylyn Fudge that will make your mornings painless, your evenings polished, and your nights sexy. 

 

Akia: What are make-up tips for women who are always on the go? What are the focal points? What products do you use that can achieve this?

 

Kaylyn: If you have no time for anything else make sure your eyebrows are done. Whether you have natural thick arched eyebrows, or you have to fill them in. Women who are always on the go should carry blotting sheets to prevent their foundation from making the face too oily. You can purchase these sheets from Sephora or Ulta. Elf products also has blotting sheets at a very cheap price. You also want to keep a gloss, or lipstick on hand to refresh your lips every so often throughout the day. Worn out lipstick is a no-go. Lastly, for a women on the go, it is convenient to keep a small makeup bag in your purse, with travel size mascara, lipsticks, lip gloss, eyelash glue, a compact mirror for touch ups and emergencies.

 

Akia: What is a make-up look that can be transitional, for instance an interview by morning, an internship or work by evening, and a drink at the bar with friends by night?

 

Kaylyn: The perfect transitional face is a naturally highlighted and contoured face, add a pink or nude gloss for work, and a bold lip for drinks.

 

Akia: You have 5 minutes before you have to walk out of your front door to be on time for work, what do you do? Eyebrows, highlights, lips, eyeliner?

 

Kaylyn: I would choose to do my eyebrows.

 

Akia: What are three must have products for quick make-up?

 

Kaylyn:

1.     Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomeade; it can be purchased at Ulta or Sephora

2.     Lashes: Ardell Demi Whispies Lashes; it can be purchased at any local drugstore

3.     Foundation: My current favorite is Makeup Forever HD Foundation; it can be purchased at any Sephora

 

Akia: Where did your interest in make-up originate from?

 

Kaylyn: My interest in makeup began in high school after I stumbled upon several youtube videos. I was intrigued by the variety of looks you could achieve through makeup.

 

Akia: What is your favorite part about doing make-up?

 

Kaylyn: Making my customers feel flawless and being able to express my artistic side through the process.           

 

Akia: Long term, where do you see your career in the make-up field?

           

Kaylyn: I see myself building a brand far past just doing make-up, eventually making a leap into the beauty production world and starting my own cosmetics line.

 

Akia: Who is your favorite make-up artist icon? Who inspires you?

 

Kaylyn: My make-up icon is Alaina, the owner of Color Du Jour, LLC.

Akia: What are some make-up “no no’s” for you?”

 

Kaylyn: My biggest no no would be harsh concealer around the eyebrows. The runner up would definitely be an overly powdered face.

 

Akia: What is your signature style?

 

Kaylyn: I believe my signature would be a smokey eye with natural golden accents as opposed to the classic black smokey eye with a pink lip.
